01.12.2012 Dear IPPNW,
Exploring different cultures, learning about different viewpoints from all over the world, seeing how the life is going on the other side of world have been my some of interest. Since I was a second year medical student, I've attended several student-exchange-programs during my medical education. I have a lot of nice memories from all of them, I learned a lot, I had a lot of foreign friends from all over the world which makes me feel like I know some people from many countries. But, my IPPNW exchange program was one of the most remarkable one which I like the most.

01.12.2012 Introduction to IPPNW
The first time I heard about IPPNW was about a year ago at a lecture in Prishtina. Before us, the studentsof the Medical Faculty of Prishtina, Timothy, student’s representativeof the German affiliate of IPPNW, described the activities of thisorganization that seemed to have an amazing history and a very worthy purpose. I rarely had the chance to learn of such organizations of medical students so I got interested and did some more exploring on the Internet about the history of IPPNW.

01.12.2012 Memories from Europe
The year 2012 became one of the most memorable years in my life, not only because  I  graduated from  medical school  but also because i  got opportunity to  see the  world outside for the first time. Undoubtedly, I was a travel freak in my country and had been to the remotest places, but  never  before had I had this sort of  international exposure. My Sincere thanks to IPPNW for making everything possible.

01.12.2012 I first heard of IPPNW
in 2010 when a colleague, Charles, was collecting signatures at the School of Medicine, University of Nairobi for a petition against nuclear weapons. Two years later Charles introduced me to Dr. Hellen, the coordinator of IPPNW in Kenya. Coincidentally, IPPNW had an elective opportunity in Germany. The only requirement was  to win an essay competition. I initially hesitated since I had not written anything in a long time. However, after doing some research on the essay topic, I put down my thoughts. Three of us got shortlisted for an interview where we also learnt more about the history of IPPNW in Kenya. I received the “good news” in late September while at my friend’s house in Nairobi. I was so excited that I hardly slept that night.
